Our Booth School of Business is the top-ranked business school in the country, and fosters collaborations between students, scientists, and scholars. The Polsky Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a trailblazer in entrepreneurial education, launching 300+ companies that have raised $9.7B+ through funding and exits. The Hyde Park Lab supports entrepreneurs and start-ups focused on life sciences, providing a gateway to innovation.

Partnerships in Action

US-Japan Quantum Partnership

In partnership with the University of Tokyo, the University of Chicago received $100 million from IBM to help develop a quantum-centric supercomputer. Additionally, the two universities were awarded $50 million from Google to support quantum research and workforce development.

Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Chicago

In partnership with UChicago, Northwestern University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the CZ Biohub elevates Chicago’s profile as a leader in biotechnology and pursues advancements in biological engineering that would not be possible without the network of partners and expertise.

Giant Magellan Telescope

The Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) is one of the most powerful telescopes on the planet, and the University of Chicago is a founding partner in a global consortium of institutions supporting the development of the telescope.

UChicago-CNRS International Research Center for Fundamental Scientific Discovery

IRC Discovery strengthens existing partnerships between scholars at two of the world’s leading research institutions. The partnership leverages both institutions’ robust networks and large-scale investments in scientific infrastructure to address some of the world’s greatest questions.

Cosmic Microwave Background Stage 4

UChicago is one of the institutions participating in this experiment, using 12 telescopes at the South Pole and Chile to survey the sky with half a million cryogenically cooled superconducting detectors, delivering transformative discoveries in fundamental physics, cosmology, astrophysics, and astronomy.

Joint Task Force Initiative

The Joint Task Force Initiative (JTFI) helps Argonne National Laboratory and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory achieve mission success by convening meetings between researchers, opening channels of frequent communication, and fostering collaboration across institutions through strategic initiatives and training opportunities that provide critical support.
